Trial within a reasonable time
So far as the Convention right to a fair and public hearing within a reasonable time is concerned, the reasonableness of the length of proceedings is to be assessed in the light of the particular circumstances of the case, regard being had to the criteria laid down in the Court's case-law, in particular the complexity of the case and the conduct of the applicant and of the relevant authorities. On the latter point, the importance of what is at stake for the applicant in the litigation has also to be taken into account.Crompton v The United Kingdom [2009] ECHR 1659.
